Our Prayer for the Week

Remembrance Day 2023

In our school on Friday morning we will remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. We will pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave service men and women. We will observe the collective act of silence as we stand together and reflect on the price of freedom.

Let us pray for all who suffer as a result of conflict, and ask that God may give us peace: for the service men and women who have died in the violence of war, each one remembered by and known to God;

For all members of the armed forces who are in danger this day, remembering family, friends and all who pray for their safe return;

For civilian women, children and men whose lives are disfigured by war or terror, calling to mind in penitence the anger and hatreds of humanity;

For peace-makers and peace-keepers, who seek to keep this world secure and free;

For all who bear the burden and privilege of leadership, political, military and religious; asking for gifts of wisdom and resolve in the search for reconciliation and peace.

May God give peace.

Weekly News and Updates from the Headteacher

Our first week of the second half of the Autumn Term got off to a good start and I hope you continue to check Dojo regularly to see the many great things that your children do each day in various lessons over the course of each working week.

On Wednesday of last week, we celebrated the great Feast of All Saints. Fr. Sean Crawley celebrated mass for us – his first as our new parish priest. He was very impressed with the prayerfulness and attentiveness of our children. Fr. Sean will be in school again on Monday 13th November to celebrate Mass with our Y6 pupils. As only one year group will be attending this Mass, parents, carers and grandparents are welcome to join us for Mass at 9.30am.

Are you free on Wednesday morning? If so, please do come along to our Parent Forum Meeting at 9am on Wednesday 8th November. The meeting will last an hour. If you are not sure what the Parent Forum is, please look back at last week’s newsletter when this was explained in more detail.

A quick reminder in case you haven’t booked your appointment with your child’s class teacher for Parents’ Evening which will be taking place over two evenings – Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th November. This is an important event in our school calendar, which gives you the opportunity to find out how your child is progressing and what you can do at home to support their education.

Reading Support Volunteers – We are still looking for parent/carer volunteers willing to assist us with supporting children as readers across school. You must be willing to undertake a DBS check and some simple training with our reading leaders Miss Tickle and Miss Workman. If this is something you are able to do, please let me know via Dojo or calling in to the school office. We want to share books as much as possible this year and are in need of additional adults with a passion for reading to enhance our reading offer.

As always, I thank you for your continued support. Mr. Molyneux

Using Google Family Link app.

The Google Family Link has come on in leaps and bounds over the years, allowing parents greater management of their child’s Google accounts (e.g Youtube) and Android devices. This includes children under the age of 13.

Internet Matters have put together a great article explaining exactly what Google Family Link is plus details instructions on how to set it up and use it.

You can find the article HERE.
