Our Prayer for the Week

The first week of Advent

Come, Lord Jesus! Come!

May this Advent be a time of deep renewal in our lives, Lord.

May it be a time in which we strive with all our heart to seek out your gentle and profound voice.

Give us the grace, Lord, to turn away from the many noises of the world that compete for our attention and to turn only to you and to all you wish to say.

Come, Lord Jesus, come into our lives more deeply during this Advent season.

Weekly News and Updates from the Headteacher

If you know of anyone who was unable to attend the recent Open Day, please could you let them know that there will be another opportunity to visit school on Friday 8th December at 10.30am. To book a place, please telephone school on 01924 339435 or email by 2pm on Thursday 7th December.

Celebration Assemblies during the month of December – CHANGE OF TIME

One of the highlights of our week is being able to gather together in the KS2 Hall for our Celebration Assembly. As December is a very busy month with lots happening in school, we are changing the time of the celebration assemblies. This means that on Friday 8th December and Friday 15th December the Celebration Assembly will be held at 9am. The list of names of children receiving rewards will still feature on the newsletter but the assembly will be at the earlier time of 9am.

Breakfast Club

Thank you for taking the time to complete the online survey. The results will be collated this week, which will hopefully give us a clear idea on the future of the club. As soon as I am able to I will share more information with parents.

Questions, queries or concerns

If you have any questions or queries about your child’s progress or if something they have told you is concerning you, please contact your child’s class teacher via Dojo and make an appointment to see them to talk things through with them. In the first instance, they are best person to speak to as they spend more time with your child than any other member of staff does. If following your conversation with the class teacher you need to speak further, then please arrange to see the appropriate Phase Leader.

For children in Foundation Stage, the Phase Leader is Miss Gourmley,

For children in Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2), the interim Phase Leader is Miss Workman,

For children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), the Phase Leaders are Mrs. Conley and Mrs. Durkan.

If after speaking to your child’s class teacher and then the appropriate Phase Leader you still have a concern, please get in touch with me. If you have a safeguarding concern, please bring this to my immediate attention.

As always, I thank you for your continued support. Mr. Molyneux

General Updates

Breakfast Club

If you are arriving after school staff  have opened the gate at 8am for breakfast club, please could parents ensure that they accompany their child to the office when dropping them off for breakfast club. Please do not leave your child to come through the gate alone when staff are not there to receive them.  This is for safety as the car park is busy at this time with staff arriving and parents should wait to ensure their child is met by a member of staff.

Christmas Crafts – parents invited  – Thursday 7th December – Years 3, 4, 5, 6

Parents of children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 on Thursday 7th December (2 -3pm) to do some Christmas crafting activities with their child. We kindly request a £1 donation for each child to contribute towards the crafting resources. Please login to your child’s School Money account on to make the payment. All children will be participating in the crafting activities regardless of whether their parent can attend or not, so the donation is requested for every child please. We would look forward to seeing you for some Christmas fun.

Christmas Nativities – Reception, Year 1 and 2 – 13th and 14th December

As advertised on Class Dojo, please ensure you book your tickets for the Nativity plays for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 only.
You will be able to book x2 tickets per child per day ONLY. Tickets are FREE.
We will hold a raffle on the day so please bring cash if you would like to enter. By entering the raffle it allows school to keep the cost of the nativity free and helps raise funds for school equipment.
Please visit the link to book – will open 15 minutes before the showing, please make sure that you have your tickets available on the day (with the QR code) and arrive on time. Entry may be refused if you show up late.
For health and safety reasons you will only be able to enter the show if you have booked a ticket.

LATES – As the weather continues to be cold, wet or icy, this can cause increased traffic on the roads. Parents are advised to allow extra time each day to get to school by setting off earlier to avoid being late. Poor weather conditions does result in drivers travelling more cautiously, therefore slower; choosing to drive rather than walk and extra time needed to de – ice vehicles. It is very important that children do still arrive to school on time. Please do bear in mind how the weather can impact your journey time and adjust your departure from home time accordingly.
