Spiritual Reflection

Yesterday was a truly historic day. A day when many of us paused our busy lives to watch the State Funeral. Some of our community travelled to London over the course of the weekend, whilst others watched from their own homes with their own families.

We couldn’t help but be moved by the magnificent ceremony and processions, all of which were so carefully planned and delivered. Many of us will have reflected not just on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth but on the passing of our own departed family members and friends. Whilst it was a day of sadness, it was also a fitting celebration for a life well lived.

As we now continue with our own busy lives and the Royal Family begin their own period of private mourning, let us reflect on the words spoken by the Right Reverend David Conner at the beginning of the Committal service in St. George’s Chapel.

We are bound to call to mind someone whose uncomplicated yet profound Christian Faith bore so much fruit. Fruit, in a life of unstinting service to the Nation, the Commonwealth and the wider world, but also in kindness, concern and reassuring care for her family and friends and neighbours. In the midst of our rapidly changing and frequently troubled world, her calm and dignified presence has given us confidence to face the future, as she did, with courage and with hope. As, with grateful hearts, we reflect on these and all the many other ways in which her long life has been a blessing to us, we pray that God will give us grace to honour her memory by following her example, and that, with our sister Elizabeth, at the last, we shall know the joys of life eternal.

PTA – We need you!

Thank you to those parents who did attend our PTA meeting on Friday. We have discussed organising a Christmas Fair in school. We will provide more details at a later date regarding when it will take place but would like to appeal to parents and families in the first instance to see if you can help us? Can you help out on a stall on the day? Do you have any contacts that could help with donations for a raffle or gifts for the Santa’s Grotto? Perhaps you have links with a local supermarket who could offer donations of selection boxes or supplies for the food stalls? Even if you are unable to commit ongoing to our PTA but could help out at this event, we would greatly appreciate your time and / or donations.  Please contact School Office on Class Dojo if you can help.

After School Clubs

A message was sent on Class Dojo last week regarding the various after school clubs that are on offer to children this half term. The only way to enrol your child onto after school clubs is by logging in to your School Money account and reserving a place by making a payment. If the School Money system does not allow you to make a reservation for a place then this will be because the club is full to capacity. Places cannot be reserved by contacting the class teacher or the school office. To access School Money, visit and choose School Money Parent login. Your login details were sent to you last academic year.
